Welder ($30 /hour)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual for a new Welder position in the Kawartha Lakes region.

On the job, the successful candidate will be responsible for custom fabrication and meticulously cutting and joining metals, reading blueprints, determining welding methods, setting up components, operating grinders, aligning and welding components in various positions, and conducting thorough inspections to identify flaws.

Candidates must have 3 years of welding experience but no tickets required.

Welder Duties:

• Cut and join metals and other materials
• Read blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures
• Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications
• Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding
• Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a welder and 3 years experience.
• Tickets not required.
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.)
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Ability to use electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing
• Mechanical inclination with a steady hand and attention to detail
