Welder/Fitter (with experience)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder / Fitter for a full time position in the Barrie area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating items of various sizes based on engineering drawings and samples, primarily focusing on MIG welding with some TIG welding. Duties will also include measuring and cutting materials, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and performing general housekeeping duties.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm with overtime as required.

Welder/Fitter Duties:

• Fabricate items of various sizes from engineering drawings and samples in a timely fashion.
• Responsible for the measuring and cutting of materials.
• Focus primarily on MIG welding, with some TIG welding.
• Other duties as required

Welder/Fitter Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in welding (no certificate required)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Proficiency in MIG welding; TIG welding skills are an asset.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Safety shoes/boots required.
• Sheet metal fabrication skills are an asset but not required.
• Welding Trade Certification or equivalent experience.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Perform general cleaning duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
